What is Walk & Talk Therapy?

Walking side by side can make difficult conversations feel a little easier. Many clients find that being outdoors helps them feel more relaxed, think more clearly, and open up more naturally than sitting across from someone in an office.

Research suggests that rhythmic bilateral movement such as walking, may support emotional processing and help regulate the nervous system, making it easier for many people to reflect and process difficult experiences.

Your privacy is essential. Before beginning walk and talk therapy, we’ll discuss the route, how we’ll respond if we encounter other people, and whether this format feels like the right fit for you. While no outdoor setting can offer the same level of privacy as an office, we take thoughtful steps to make our conversations as confidential and comfortable as possible.

Is walk & talk therapy right for you?

  • Feel restless sitting in an office.

  • Think better while moving.

  • Enjoy being outside.

  • Have a busy schedule and appreciate a relaxed setting that allows for you to move your body.
